Building permits ensure that construction meets minimum building standards to ensure a safe building. You need a permit if you’re making structural, plumbing, mechanical, or electrical changes to an existing building, changing the occupancy classification of an existing building, and when you're building something new. Permits are also required for demolition of a building.

All permits can be accessed online through the state's online permitting system, ePermitting.

All electrical and plumbing permits are processed and issued by the Coos County Community Development Department. Their office is located at 60 E. Second Street in Coquille. Contact the Coos County Office at (541) 396-7770 or email building@co.coos.or.us.
