Ensuring fire safety for structures, events, and businesses.

Fire codes are the rules that keep buildings and people safe from fire. These requirements come from the Oregon Fire Code, which is state law. The code covers construction features, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, access for emergency responders, and public safety at events. You’ll need to involve the Fire Inspector if you’re building or remodeling a commercial space, installing or changing fire protection systems, storing hazardous materials, planning events or temporary structures, or opening a business that requires fire department approval. The Fire Inspector’s role is to help you meet legal safety requirements and keep your project moving.
